I read a lot of blogs, almost everyday, even. There are blogs I like and there are blogs I like and for the ones that make it to the latter, I tend to stick around and come back to lap for more. Content appeals to me very much as I find my blog hopping experience time well spent.
So timely then that I am participating in Janette Toral’s Top Ten Emerging Influential Blogs Writing Project on the look out for emerging influential blogs for 2011. New as they may be (aka emerging), they are making an impact on me. Check them out and discover their charms. You might just be as hooked as I am.
Here are my Top 10:
{The Blogger’s Journal} This is one of my go-to blogs when I need help tech help. Being an on-again-off-again blogger, I get really frustrated with all the mumbo jumbo going on behind the scenes. But I’ve gotten braver with this journal’s help. I can figure out some of those letters, numbers, symbols and stuff quite well now. And I thought I’d never get the hang of html! As for on the scene action, I get tons of advice on how to really put my blog out there. Rockin’.
{Certified Foodies} Love food? I love food! Between the sis and bro tandem that is Mhel and Ken, there’s plenty going on in here. Ken’s studying to be a chef and Mhel’s a kitchen glam girl but their recipes aren’t daunting at all, so forget thinking that theirs will only work excellent in a pro kitchen. Who says your home kitchen can’t be the stage for just-like-the-pro creations? The siblings’ have a real knack for adventure and taste-bud challenges too so if you’re wondering how the Manila food scene is faring, get your reviews right from the mouths of these two… err, blog, We haven’t even started on their great food photographs! But then, I’ll let you find out for yourself…
{My Green Living Ideas} How do you feel about Mother Earth? She’s certainly given us a lot, as Ria’s blog so often reminds. She advocates green living by encouraging care for our environment, reduction of carbon footprints, and making the world a better place so this blog is greenie tip heaven. Her finds on eco-friendly products are great too! If you’re on the lookout for green recommendations, I recommend you drop Ria a visit.
{Mom Writes} Yes, she does! Welcome to Ruby’s happy place online. She’s very profound in her writing with soul stories many wives and moms can relate to. But she’s upbeat and fun too, especially when she showcases family activities. It’s a blog about happiness and positivity and if you get to know Ruby more, you will find that for her to have this kind of energy is also very inspiring.
{Mommy Survival Guide} Being a mom is tough. There I said it. Ask any mom and I doubt they’ll disagree. So it’s pretty cool when you have a site to turn to for dealing with the mommy life. Ellen provides great support in reaching out to other moms so that we can all band together and learn from each other, share in those meltdown moments (I certainly have a lot) but most of all, walk the journey together.
{The Pepperiffic Life} Ah Pepper. How she makes the single mom life seem seem so easy. I’m in a great marriage but I’m a single mom these days too. The hubby works far from home and only gets to go home weekends so I’m pretty much stressed out being a solo working parent. So when I go get my Pepper fix, sometimes I want to lose it. How in the world does she still get to post amazing stuff? I love her take on parenting, I love the tips she comes up with, I love how her blog is always fresh and updated, and I love her quips on single mommy life. Go, Pepper!
{The Tottering Mama} I’m so not over mom blogs yet! Presenting, Olga and her beautiful family. Oh this mama knows how to work it. She juggles marriage, mommy-hood and housework. Clearly a domestic goddess, she manages to squeeze in time for blogging too, with a lot of helpful home and life hack advice and a platform for news, information and causes she supports. I especially like how she rolls out activities for her kiddies. I’m always on the look-out for doable projects that will keep my kids occupied. Do you have pre-school and elementary kids? Her free printables are dandy! See why I keep coming back?
{My Painted Lips} I’m a make-up late bloomer so my fascination for everything face paint is still high up there. I’m a working gal, the make-up helps keep my look collected. Still, I don’t have time all the time to do make up. I find that powder and some minimal eye and cheek blush works well for a nice everyday look, but lipsticks in different shades bring out different looks. So I share my lip tint stories with Pehpot and there you have it, the vanity fix. I like to look around for new colors she’s discovered and tried and then go check them out afterwards. If you’re into painted puckers, go see what Peh recommends.
{Notepad Corner} When you’ve got a lot of experiences in life, chances are you’ve got a lot to say, and this can mostly be summed up to advice, tips and lessons. For Joy, sharing is caring, and she gladly offers big sister advice on almost anything. I’m especially drawn to her writings on family, parenting, marriage, finances, spirituality, caring for yourself, and keeping the home happy. She’s been there and done it, and we can all learn a lot from her blog. I certainly do.
{LEVYousa} For my last pick, let me put the spotlight on Levy, who advocates living life to the fullest. And this blog of hers is testament to how she tries to keep positive in all aspects of her life. That doesn’t mean that she doesn’t encounter trials; she does but Levy is grace under pressure and tries to hurdle everything in stride, indeed living life to the fullest. Her positivity is infectious as she includes posts that will make you laugh and smile, make you think, increase your knowledge and learn from her experiences.
These are my official Top 10 for the 2011 Emerging Influential Blogs.
