Isaac graduated from pre-school last March 25 and I babbled about his wonderful two-year experience that led to a very memorable moving up ceremony.
Memorable because… woo whee, it’s a big milestone for my not-so-little boy!
Memorable because we were not spared from the Curse of the Boo Boo
. I shared only bits and pieces of our grad day bloopers but I want to remember them in detail for as long as I can so I got this series going on. It’s only three stories cut into parts since I tend to write looong. As for the bloopers, we can’t seem to go a day without one (or two, or three, or more), somehow choosing to level up the intensity when we are out in public. It is our family trademark after all, one of the quirky things that make us, well, us. We are that family, the one whose boo boos are always two steps ahead.
On grad day, who better to ignite the blooper flare than darling Sophia? She was being cute and adorable, of course. But like a switch, she goes into hyper brat mode every now and then and that’s when we have to start chasing her around. Or quieting her down when she figures she can drive us even more nuts or beet red with embarrassment by screaming. And so with only one nanny in tow and me being photographer of the occasion, I came close to dropping my camera three times just to help cordon the little girl. The grandfolks take turns in having her sit on their laps. They have to do this because she struggles hard and because she hates being held against her will, it is at this point she starts screeching.
All throughout the ceremony, she insists she wants a toga too. So when we explain that is isn’t possible, she crumples on the floor and loses it.

To appease her, we let her put on Zach’s toga; the ceremonies were over anyway. Awww, the cutest little graduate of the batch!
We needed tons of luck getting the toga off afterwards though.
So it wasn’t so bad. We’ve had worse Sophia meltdowns after all. And we did get a few laughs from her antics.
If you missed our little boy’s graduation tale, here it is! Meanwhile, stay tuned for Bloopers 2 and 3.
