just you and me, boody

lazytown-wiithumbBoody.

Hah, he picked up a new word! More like a new phrase.

T had an over-nighter yesterday. Office stuff and teambuilding exercises. He was kinda bummed about it because it was the Labor Day holiday and he was stuck in a seminar. First of all, he was peeved that another opportunity for family fun was gonna go to waste and second, he was moping even more because he was gonna miss the better part of another airsoft close quarter battle. His club had arranged for some Labor Day games at the site and word was going around that the Dumaguete, San Carlos and Black Boys delegation were gonna be there.

Oh yeah, it wasn’t hubby who picked up the new word, I meant 2-year old Zach. It was just he and me last night so after some reading time, we I played some computer games.

When we finally hit the sheets, I said something like, “It’s just you and me tonight, son” and he goes “ooohh boody!” It took me a while to ‘get’ it. A really long baffling while. But he was going on in a way only a 2-year old can about Nick Jr. and “Tatey Town” so I can only sum it up to something he watched on Lazy Town where someone said, “It’s only you and me, buddy.”

Turns out I was right. When I asked his nanny this morning, she confirmed. Pretty smart eh? Just a thought, though: if he’s watching too much tv when we’re not home, off with the nanny’s head, hehe! The nanny assures me (with a stern look too for even implying) that his tv time is limited as instructed.

Another thought. It was awfully lonely last night without hubby to cuddle with. Missed him really bad, even if it was just for one night so when he called, Z and I – well me, mostly – were happy. The bed seemed really big although one momentary plus was that the space ensured I didn’t get kicked much (and hard). Oh the joy and pain of co-sleeping. Of course I meant the baby!

As I type, T arrived about three hours ago and has earnestly pleaded he go straight to the gamesite after a quick shower and gear change. He used the lost puppy dog look, the kind that makes it really hard to say no. I bet his phone inbox must’ve been full of messages from his buds taunting him on what he was missing because he rarely uses the puppy dog look. Too mushy for a toughie he always says, reserved only for desparate times. Inspite of myself, it works like a charm. He hasn’t got off easy though, he owes me a dinner date this weekend plus extra cuddles tonight.

we love watching Lazy Town too, along with other NickJr and Disney channel shows.

“It’s only you and me, buddy.” — if i recall it right it was Sportacus who says that line in Lazy Town. :)

when the kids were little, i used to watch shows like that. not anymore. ahhh, i missed those days.

hope you get dinner date this weekend or better yet, what about a candle lit dinner prepared by you. you can be sure that you will get a lot of cuddling and more this way.

  3. My daughter (turns two in Aug) is an early talker too. She’s like a parrot and repeats words she hears. Her older brother, however, didn’t start talking until after he turned two.
