So I’m over the drama from yesterday. I re-read it and half of what I said even I didn’t get. Worry-glowy. All yin-yang. Random.

window shopping

I distracted myself from all that at the mall that evening. Lucky I didn’t have money to spend or I’d have given in to impulse. I searched my mental lists, hastily replacing the wishlist (aka the What-I-Wants… and it’s long, mind you) for the checklist (the Get-Them-Gifts, them meaning the VIPs of my life). Window shopping! Oh yeah! Always the next best ‘shopping therapy’ for the currently cash-strapped.

So zoom I did to the to the magnetized force of the department store. Always the shopping haven, it’s got almost everything. Eye candy merchandise everywhere. Since my kids topped my list, I scoured the toy section for toys they might fancy. Of course, I purposely skipped the games counter. At another store last week, Zach longingly asked if he could add another DSi disk to the few ones he shared with his cousin Leslie. As if 6 weren’t already enough *snort*! But you know kids, it’s a 1000-games-in-1 sort of thing. So I gamely said yes – and quickly retracted when the price tag screamed P2K. Holy moley, really? So Zach’s gonna have to get over that disappointment while I note down other affordable cool toys. Sophia is easy: get her things to stack, something she can hit or throw and she’s a happy camper.

Right next to Toys were linens. I got hit with serious longing walking those aisles. All those beautiful sheets! And didn’t we need new pillows? And towels. And blankets. My fingers ran down a few… ahhh. Seriously, sheets. They were having a home accessories sale. Mentally noted that one for the wave of bonuses December was sure to bring. I was thinking along the lines of The White Company but they didn’t stock any so I’d either have to check out other stores next time or take advantage of the discounted prices on what I’d already deemed delicious bed-ware. How utterly delightful would it be to cozy up like this:

Mmmmm. I’d probably never get up on any given Sunday. I’d just laze away. Any given day! (Photo: *S*. Looove her blog! Pretty photos, gleeful craft projects and engaging talk. I think I just found a crafty new ‘un to add to my art-follow list.)

I managed to snap out of that cotton moment. Just in time too. Any longer in my reverie and I would have looked like an idiot. I did a nice round up of the store, which was great because I also found other giftables that would suit the folks, the kids (again), the niece and some Godkids. For Tots, I dunno. He’s quite difficult to shop for since whatever he gets has be be specific and ready to use. Too specific, it ain’t easy. I’d probably just let him have his own pick again.

Twas a good run around the mall last night. No fiascos. And by some miracle, I was able to keep myself from buying anything. Major, I mean. Deodorant and new blush doesn’t count… does it? I repeat: lucky I didn’t have a wad of cash last night. Major lucky.

are we kind of the same that it’s never complete being in a mall and not having to buy anything like a hair clip and yours, a blusher? LOL…if yes, i agree when you said that ’twas your lucky day for not having much cash or else…:-)
