Semi frustrated at the moment. I can’t seem to finish up despite desperately wanting to share my RAOK experience last week. I am just So.So.Tired. My back still aches from that long Abra trip (10 looong hours from Manila by bus) and I’m back at the office with more work piled up. And a new assignment. Jeepers.

Please, please, please extend that patience a little while longer till I get my RAOK post done. It will be an amazing read (I hope!) as I had an amazing birthday…  and week! In the meantime, I’m peppering this post with some random photos on the road from last week.

  1. School desk made from bamboo. Engineered bamboo stirring the waves!
  2. Split bamboo.
  3. Best buko pie in the world found in Los Baños, Laguna! A simple little shop, very simple. BUT people lining up, really lining up. The buko pie shops next door were no match. Orient – The Original Buko Pie Bakeshop. A must try! Other reviews here and here.
  4. Mall of Asia. Lotsa peeps that night. JBieber concert.
  5. Uhm. “I-was-here”?
  6. Fort Santiago within the walled city of Intramuros, Manila.

  1. Manila Cathedral, that dome in the distance, Intramuros
  2. Eyeball with PEx friends, Lang (again =]) and I finally met Kenny in the flesh. Pretty mommies!
  3. Bon Chon Chicken. Ayala Triangle, Makati. Yum yum.

  1. En route to Bangued, Abra…
  2. … in first class bus seats. Looks comfy but they were no match for the 10 hour travel log. And that’s just going one way. My back still hurts.
  3. Bus line that got us there.
  4. Great craftsmanship.
  5. General scenery.
  6. Tricycles in Bangued are really cute.

  3. Vigan is fun!
  4. Visiting the Padre Burgos home.
  5. Ye olde streets of Vigan. Like a scene from an old movie. I love it.
  6. Vigan.

  4. Dinner with Mahal. In Abra. True story.
  5. Breakfast with the gov at his gamecock farm.
  6. What we ate. Something like dinuguan, but not quite. I didn’t get what the serving lady said it was.

  1. Back to Manila.
  2. Best sisig in town.
  3. A few of my fave people.
  4. Giant Burger dinner at Cash & Carry Makati.
  5. BMW. Sleek, real sleek.
  6. Touchdown. No place like home!

No further elaboration about most of the pics, like itineraries, place and food reviews, etc. I was in the big city for my job and I usually keep work stuff out of here. The photos are mainly from side trips ~ very short ones so there’s really not much to tell. (Wouldn’t it be something if they weren’t side trips?) But Vigan. Oh wow. I was charmed. I am sooooo glad we took the time, even if we were only there for about two hours. I didn’t get to explore much. One thing though, it’s an awesome little city and I felt like I was transported back in time. I can’t wait to go back there with Tots.
