spidey and some wisdom

Finally caught Spider-Man 3 (with a hyphen) last Saturday with hubby and Zach. No major spoilers here for the benefit of those who haven’t watched yet and for the rest of you who have, ye’ve been busy blogging about it already.

Here’s my one-liner review though:

Okay.

But judging from little Z’s reactions – the claps, the oohs and ahhs in all the right places – he lapped it all up. I was a bit apprehensive about having my toddler watch. It wasn’t his first movie experience but it’s the first he’s watched with this kind of action. But hey, it’s “Piedee-Mahn” so it was ok, I guess. PG and all too.

We were surprised he was so well behaved. And he wasn’t the least bit scared of the bagabooms and paphoots that the sophisticated technology offered. Yeehaw surround sound!

Now, I dunno where I get all this but I managed to turn some scenes of the movie into another of those I-can-so-related personal dramas. Even I’m peeved at myself. Can I just enjoy a movie as it is? I think it has a lot to do with some inner demon I am fighting right now. Let’s call him her Venom. Inner Turmoil isn’t as over the top as Venom so Anti-Spidey might be more appropriate. Anyway there’s this line where Auntie May Parker says something like, “You have to forgive yourself first, Peter.” I know, I’ve heard all that before. But when you’re right there with all the drama, emotion, the lights, some music for effects, the advice hit home just a little harder. Gave me a lot to think about when the credits rolled.

Yeah, you have to give it to Aunt May to give us some words to reflect on…

Thanks for dropping by. Sorry, for the late visit, I have been very busy….

    Have a nice weekend ahead!

We have been tooo busy to see the movie yet. Maybe this weekend we will go see it with the kids… SM North was packed with people last Sat- and I suspect Spidey was the culprit.
Like you, I always connect with situations in movies without trying. Heck, even in Finding Nemo and Mulan I was bawling! LOL

how come am not a bit impressed with the film? hahah!! kirsten looked disheveled here and peter parker turned ala jojo alejar na emo with his dance moves hahah! love that scene on the cathedral though, very gothic. ;)

i haven’t seen any of the spider-man movies. kawawa ba ako? i would like to think i’m not missing out on a lot by not seeing it. besides, i’m not a kirsten dunst fan. so.

as for the personal drama thing, don’t worry, i’m like that, too. actually, aunt may’s advice is a very sound one – the very simple key to happiness? hmmm, parang natamaan din yata ako…

Hehe, Lang. Just goes to show how long I haven’t been to the movies, eh? I still liked it, though. Of course, some of the flaws are obvious but, well, I was entertained.

Meeya, keep thinking that. I mean, if Kirsten doesn’t excite, why else would you need to, di ba? :)

Chats, hey, you’re not alone. To this day, my friends won’t let me forget how I bawled out at the movies on (gulp, here goes…) Little Mermaid.

gladita, yep, you have to hand it to Uncle Ben, too.
